Recreation There is something for everyone in Dorchester County. There is fishing, sailing, hunting, and golfing to name a few. Points of interest include the Spocott Windmill, Historic High Street, Old Trinity Church, Meredith House and the Brannock Maritime Museum. A must see place to visit while in Dorchester County is the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Take the scenic drive or walk or bicycle through the trails. Every year we have special events, which include the National Outdoor Show, The Grand National Waterfowl Hunt, Classic Power Boat Regattas, the Bay Country Festival, Hoopers Island Fishing Tournament and an Antique Aircraft Fly-In. “Bank of the Eastern Shore gets involved at local schools” Each week bank employees regularly visit a local school to promote a program called “Character Counts”. We spend time with elementary school students and discuss Character-building issues such as trustworthiness, respect, caring and fairness. Bank of the Eastern Shore employees also help students learn the value of saving money. We partnered with one local elementary school to develop a college savings plan for the students. Bank employees have also established a scholarship for Dorchester County graduates pursuing a higher education.
